Vaaliliitot tai vaaliliittoihin kuulumattomat sitoutumattoma ehdokkaat voivat muodostaa vaalirenkaan. Vaalirenkaassa voi olla korkeintaan kaksi kertaa niin monta ehdokasta, kuin edustajistovaalissa on valittavia. METKAn edustajistovaaleissa 2017 valitaan 25 edaattoria, joten yhteen renkaaseen voi kuulua maksimissaan 50 ehdokasta.
Vaalirenkaan tunnus ei saa loukata kenenkään henkilökohtaisia oikeuksia eikä olla kaupallinen tai muuten sopimaton. Mikäli tunnus ei täytä edellä määrättyjä vaatimuksia, on vaalilautakunnalla oikeus hylätä tunnus.

Two (2) or more electoral coalitions can form an electoral ring as long as the total number of candidates is no more than two times the number of the representatives elected in the election. Electoral ring can also include independent candidates as well as electoral coalition(s).
The name or logo of a electoral ring can not insult anyone’s personal rights and it can not be commercial or otherwise inappropriate. If the logo or name does not fill these requirements the election board reserves the right to disregard the name or logo.
